CONFERENCE CONTEXT

The digital world of today is nothing like the one we were referring to about a year and a half ago, when most activities and communications took place in person. Today, everything has changed: the way we live, work, learn and interact is largely digital, which has helped us to stay in touch with our own people, our partners and our studies, but also to carry on with our lives as normally as possible.

The last few months have confirmed in the clearest way the need to upgrade our digital skills, but also the need for the digital transformation of the educational process itself, with the development of distance learning and the use of digital tools in education.

The 3rd in a row transnational, online Discuss Learning Conference will be based on this context and will feature speakers from Greece and abroad.

The aim of the conference is to highlight methodologies and ways of acquiring digital skills at all levels of education, as reflected through materials and activities of European Erasmus+ programmes. The themes of the conference are distance learning, media literacy, computational thinking, educational robotics and teacher training. We will discuss with experts and qualified professionals, trainers, teachers and professors on how the new reality is shaping and evolving.

The conference is addressed to teachers at all levels, public or private schools, people working in Education in general, parents and generally people who wish to stay informed about developments on issues related to knowledge and its acquisition..

It will take place in three different phases, October 19th and 21st, November 23rd and 25th, December 7th and 9th 2021. It will include presentations, workshops, and question and answer sessions.

We believe that this year's conference will also bring together people working in schools and educational institutions and others who are interested in education in general. At the same time, we hope it will provide "food for thought" in an ever-changing - and hopefully better - world.

TOPICS

The thematic topics of the conference are:

  • Cultivating STEM skills - The importance of programming in today's school
    • Developing computational thinking
    • Rethinking STEM
  • Digital literacy and adult’s media literacy
    • Adults’ media literacyν
